Loris Baz will return to World Superbike this weekend to replace GoEleven Ducati rider Chaz Davies.

The Welsh rider suffered two broken ribs in a race two accident involving Kawasaki rider Lucas Mahias and was immediately taken to a local hospital.

With Davies declared unfit for this weekend’s tenth round in Jerez, the team opted to bring in Baz, who is currently on a similar machine in MotoAmerica.

The former MotoGP (2015-17) and WorldSBK rider – as recent as last season with Ten Kate Racing Yamaha – finished fourth in his first season in the United States.

Speaking ahead of his return to WorldSBK, Baz added: “First of all, I want to wish Chaz a speedy recovery, it is never nice when a rider is injured and I hope he will return to the race soon. motorbike.

Regarding Davies’ condition, the 34-year-old is expected to be back in the season finale according to Team Manager Denis Sacchetti: “I just spoke with Chaz, he’s fine, but he’s angry that he’s not being able to be with us on the Now his goal is to recover as quickly as possible for the season finale.

“I’m sure Loris will be able to carry our flag high. He has already shown what he can do.
